Everything started in British ruled India
In 1940, while India was fighting for freedom, Mr. Aziz Rander was a mineworker in the princely state of Rajasthan, a stone rich Indian state. After years of hard work, desire and planning, he managed to open a rather humble shop called “Rander Marbles”. With the mission to make accessible high quality surfaces & blocks at affordable prices to everyone, he soon made a name for himself locally.
We started getting involved in our client’s projects
In 1970, Mr. Shoqat Rander took over the family business that already had a strong foundation from which to grow. He wanted the company to get more involved and help customers create beautiful spaces. He studied hard and honed his skills and created an installation company and named it Rander Marble Finishes in 1980.
In the following decades, the company gained reputation with interior designers and architects for our excellent services. Among our more than 50+ recurring customers, there were famed businesses like Hinduja Group and Growel India.
Shoqat’s quest for quality
We were proud of our reputation for delivering high quality product and services, and Mr. Shoqat wanted more. In the 90’s, he seized the impulse that was pushing the organization forward, and so with the intention of improving their customer service and product quality, Mr. Shoqat Rander made significant investments in marble & sandstone quarries. This one swift move gave us more operational control and allowed us to exclusively work with some materials of the highest quality.
The third generation took over
Aabid Rander unified the family owned business under a single brand and called it Stones by Rander in 2011. The second successor to the family business graduated from Eckerd College, St. Petersburg, Florida with a degree in Management and from IADT, Tampa, Florida with a degree in Interior Design. He had the pleasure of assisting James Rixner, a famed New York City interior designer and also working with Gal Nauer of GNArchitects on the remodeling project of the historical The
Plaza Hotel, New York in 2007. His years of education and exposure abroad learning about famous architects and interior designers, visiting museums & galleries and places such as DCOTA, FL & D&D, NY gave Aabid a deeper insight into the world of design and architecture.
International success
Aabid took the company to another level and Stones by Rander started offering luxury surfaces and stylish custom made products for interior design projects. The company started collaborating with high-end interior designers and project management companies on premium projects around the world.
Through various luxurious residential and hospitality projects, the company started serving clients such as Hilton Group, Taj Group of hotels, and many more in India, Italy, Romania, Tunisia, Saudi Arabia, Turkey and United States.
Great comfort and extravagant designs
The Randers’ expertise in the area has been growing throughout three generations. They have optimized processes, included new technology, diversified their range of products and fields of operation and more importantly promoted human labor in workforce rich India.
Always a visionary, Aabid Rander saw an opportunity and opened a new furniture-manufacturing unit in 2018 to blend their exotic surface materials with the kitchen cabinetry and exclusive furniture pieces and home accessories. This move allowed the company more control over the production process and in helping their clients transform the ordinary into extraordinary.
Stone by Randers now has more than 100 employees, and since day one, we have maintained values of cooperation and social commitment.
